isitors thronged the aisles of the 30th Millésime Bio, totalling almost 8,000 visits by the end of the second day, which is more than during the entire 2022 exhibition (7,000 visits). As a reminder, last year was impacted by travel restrictions and witnessed a 20% drop compared with the previous in-person event in 2020. With a total of 10,300 visits over the three days, the 2023 anniversary edition reverted to pre-Covid levels. “The strength of Millésime Bio lies in its ability to reinvent itself every year to attract increasing numbers of visitors. We are extremely pleased to be back in a very positive mood”, said Nicolas Richarme, chairman of Sudvinbio, the event’s organiser.

From the area specifically dedicated to young people to the more remote areas of the Montpellier exhibition centre, the 1,500 exhibitors were indeed satisfied with the number of visitors who undeniably filled the aisles. Wine merchants came in numbers, as did national and nearby European wholesalers, “and we are re-establishing our connections with visitors from export markets outside the EU, with the return of North America and Asia, in particular through Japan”, confirmed Jeanne Fabre, chair of the Millésime Bio show. As in 2022, 20% of visitors came from abroad, including 15% from North America and 6% from Asia. As always, the trade show designed “by winegrowers for winegrowers” is valued by its participants for the meetings it generates. “We focus a lot on filtering registrations, so that only qualified buyers are registered as visitors”, explained Fabre.
