eaujolais Nouveau wines will be able to leave wineries as early as October 5, 2020, one week earlier than usual. The specific date for leaving France for non-EU countries, usually set each year at official release date-20 (31 October in 2019) has been brought forward to Monday 12 October 2020, i.e. 38 days before the public launch date. The one week period between the two dates is the time needed to prepare the wines, decide on the right blend, bottle them, and group them together on the various departure platforms to be shipped around the world.

The release of Beaujolais Nouveau is still scheduled for the customary third Thursday in November, which this year is 19 November 2020.

The measures have been taken to provide “the required flexibility in transport to maintain our good trade relations, and will help alleviate the stress and tension currently felt by everyone”, explained Dominique Piron, chairman of the marketing board.
