t’s not every day you hit the 20 year-old mark, and even less 140. To celebrate its anniversary in style, Maison Langlois has produced a one-off magnum of Crémant de Loire. ‘Cadence 140’ is outstanding in many ways, not least of which for its maturation – its grapes were harvested in 2004. At the time, harvesting began on 15 September. The blend of Chenin, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc was disgorged in February 2025. Its labelling, too, sets it apart – the Saumur negociant tasked Loire artist Anne-Dorothée Schulz with designing two hand-knotted documents for the bottles, one written, the other drawn. The foil capsule was also removed. The premium offering is available at wine merchants and from Langlois with a recommended retail price of €220.

Langlois – formerly Langlois-Chateau – is a subsidiary of Bollinger and is demonstrating its desire to market premium wines by focusing on its two brands: Langlois for the Crémant de Loire and Hubert-Brochard for vineyards farmed in the AOC Sancerre region. The AOC Saumur still wines made from owned vineyards are labelled Clos Saint-Florent.

In 2024, the company, run by François-Régis de Fougeroux, posted revenue in excess of €13 million, 80% from exports. In the French market, aside from a label for Monoprix, it focuses on wine merchants and the on-trade.
