Thierry Berger all-set to run Bollinger group’s Domaine Chanson

omaine Chanson, situated in Beaune, has been owned by the family-run Bollinger group since 1999. It now welcomes a new managing director, Thierry Berger, who has spent eleven years at the helm of Soufflet Vigne and another five in marketing. The Touraine-born 53-year-old takes over management of “one of the oldest companies in Burgundy”, stresses a press statement.
The newly-recruited executive says he is “determined to continue to develop this iconic company”, bringing with him his experience at Soufflet Vigne where he was in contact with every aspect of vine growing and winemaking.
Domaine Chanson’s historic vineyard covers 43 hectares of organically farmed vines rooted in “the heart of the finest vineyard sites of the Côte de Beaune”, adds the statement. Recently, acreage was extended with the purchase of 45 hectares in the Côte Chalonnaise aimed at perpetuating the Bollinger subsidiary’s tradition of “finely honed single-vineyard winemaking within each ‘climat’”.
