Prestige box sets of auction wines designed to pay tribute to… auctions

s a nod to its role as “the leading buyer at the Hospices de Beaune auction for over 30 years”, Albert Bichot always finds a way of showing its support for the Burgundy wine institution. After its Soundivine speaker and its Grand Cru sommelier knife, the forthcoming auction on November 16 will see the company revert to something more classic. It is preparing to launch two – very – limited editions of 25 numbered copies each alluding to the 2025 vintage, from its vertical collection of iconic wines from the annual auction.
“Two iconic labels and two renditions of Burgundy heritage”, presented every year at the Hospices de Beaune auction, will feature in each of the gift packs. The first contains the Dames Hospitalières Beaune Premier Cru label, “an iconic wine which traditionally marks the start of the auction as a tribute to the hospital sisters who have marked the history of the Hospices since 1443”, says a press statement. Grown in the La Mignotte, Les Bressandes and Les Teurons ‘climats’ classified as Beaune Premier Cru, this ultra-limited edition is available in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 vintages starting on September 15 with a price tag of €450 including VAT in Albert Bichot’s online store.
The other gift set comes in white with Meursault Chardonnays under the Goureau label. “A tribute to Mademoiselle Goureau, a major benefactor of the Hospice de la Charité, this wine comes from the Peutes Vignes and Grands Charrons vineyard sites”, adds the statement. The 2018, 2020 and 2022 vintages in the set can be purchased by the lucky few buyers for €690 including VAT.
