Château Puech-Haut gets a new director to modernise the property

rnaud Demongeot worked for twenty years as a sales representative for iconic Languedoc property Château Puech-Haut before becoming its managing partner in September 2024. He moved to Saint-Drézéry to modernise the estate “whilst also preserving its winegrowing spirit and promoting its terroirs”. Demongeot promises to innovate and is releasing a sparkling wine and two low-alcohol offerings – a white and a rosé with an ABV of 9%. The “appetising, fruity wines are easy to understand and offer instant gratification for a target audience of young consumers”.
Demongeot also wants to segment the ranges at Puech-Haut for greater clarity. He has already started “creating specific labels for supermarkets and hypermarkets”, a channel where “the brand needs to continue to be strong as one of Languedoc’s iconic wineries. It plays an active part in the region’s quality image, even if we are ten times smaller than some of the large players”.
