T
he Skalli group is passing hands to the Burgundy company Boisset. After several months of negotiation, a Protocol of Accord has just been signed transferring activities from Skalli wines to Boisset. Robert Skalli confided in Vitisphere a few months ago that, without family succession for his wine activity in France, the French blended-wine pioneer was looking for a solution to elongate his business. The family character of Boisset was a key element in this decision: “I´m very happy that it’s Boisset who are breathing their family spirit into Skalli, with a view of continuing the brands and partners we’ve taken on over the years. I am ecstatic that this family are as engaged in wine production as they are in quality and have the wont to spread this worldwide. I’m very confident in the future I’m putting in their hands” stated Robert Skalli.
For Boisset, setting up shop in the south of France goes hand in hand with the approach they’ve taken for more than 20 years, that is, being in the heart of the terroir with a strong desire for sustainability. “We are honoured to continue this wonderful family business and are thankful for its moving us physically, dynamicly and qualitatively into one of the largest vineyards in the world, Languedoc, and strengthening our presence in the Rhone Valley. We are very pleased to be adding new global partners through the Skalli family and strengthen our international presence. In short, we’re proud to be "descendants" of the Skalli family!" said Jean-Charles Boisset.
