Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône will not take place as scheduled from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 April 2021. The event, which is attended by 2,000 trade visitors (buyers and journalists) across the wine region, has been postponed until Monday 4 to Thursday 7 April 2022, according to its organiser, the Rhone Valley wine marketing board.

Due to the health crisis that is currently affecting the entire world and the resulting uncertainties, the eleventh Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône has been postponed until next year”, announced a press release, in which hopes were expressed for “a return of in-person discussions and tastings for players throughout the world of wine”.

Launched twenty years ago, what sets the biennial exhibition apart is that it takes place in the wine region itself as a complement to exhibitions usually held internationally. The 2021 event was therefore slated to take place in the Palais des Papes in Avignon, Espace Rochegude in Tain l'Hermitage and in the village halls in Mauves and Ampuis.

The April 2019 event welcomed 1,833 visitors, 40% of them from outside France (37 countries). Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône welcomed 592 exhibitors in the 7 available tasting areas.
