“The 4,000 employees of firms belonging to the C10 network have mostly been furloughed (90%)”, specified a press release.

hat does the closure of the hospitality industry imply for C10: a 100% drop in business and 0% turnover since the start of lockdown?

Guillaume de Marcellus: Almost. Our business has been reduced to the absolute minimum. Nevertheless, we continue to deliver to certain hospitals and retirement homes as well as some chain stores and take-away customers. In March, we posted a 53% drop in turnover.

Have support tools provided by the State given C10 security for the future, or is it at risk?

We have encouraged our members to “take maximum advantage” of measures introduced by the government. For the moment, the network is not at risk. Nevertheless, until we have greater visibility regarding a reopening date, and concrete measures for the sector, our companies will be vulnerable.

Have take-away initiatives given business a boost, even on a small scale?

We already deliver to a few thousand take-away points of sale. However, even though take-away initiatives are increasing in traditional cafés, hotels and restaurants, this will not compensate for company closures. Also, we have even less hindsight regarding this micro-phenomenon, particularly as regards the drinks section.
