tarting on 1 January 2020, Laurent Fresnet will become the next cellar master at GH Mumm & Cie Champagnes (Pernod Ricard group). He takes over from Didier Mariotti, who was dismissed during the 2018 harvest season. Magalie Maréchal, the deputy cellar master, took over during the interim.

The son of Champagne winegrowers and a winemaker from Reims, Laurent Fresnet has been the cellar master at Henriot since 2006. He will leave his position after finishing the winemaking process for the 2019 vintage in December.

Grand Cordon

Founded in 1827, Maison Mumm owns 218 hectares under vine. Purchased in 2005 by Pernod Ricard from Allied Domecq, the Mumm brand posted a 1% increase in sales during the 2018-2019 financial year. According to the group, the growth can be ascribed to the American, Chinese and Japanese markets, supported by the new bottle for the Grand Cordon label.
