The Vinadeis group has today sent members of the Social and Economic Committee of Vignerons de la Méditerranée documents informing and consulting them on plans to close the industrial facilities in Narbonne in 2020,” announced the group in a press release. The closure will have no impact on employment and the group will seek to “avoid any dismissals”, “by offering reclassification positions to all relevant employees, supporting them in their professional and geographical mobility”.

Adapting to the marketplace

The group plans “to adapt its industrial facilities and concentrate its packaging business at its two plants located in Carcassonne (11) and Maureilhan (34)”. Vinadeis justifies the closure by citing changes to the marketplace, forcing it to adjust its supplies and “shift the focus to wines from across the South of France". According to the group, it is also part of implementation of the 2018/2023 strategic plan.
