This is good news for the French wine industry!” said a beaming Pascale Ferranti, director of Wine Paris. Rodolphe Lameyse, managing director of Vinexpo, is equally satisfied. “One month after my arrival, we have already succeeded in getting the stakeholders to talk so that from 10 to 12 February 2020 Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris can be held at the same venue. It's a huge announcement that was eagerly awaited. And it's not over, this is just the beginning!” The global wine and spirits sector can thus count on a major event in Paris next year. The two shows managed to reach an agreement, thereby responding to demand from exhibitors and visitors who wanted a single French show, to resolve the threat of resource dispersion. “This is a solution for producers, traders and brands to optimise their resources”, added Ferranti.

Unanswered questions

As for the actual results of the collaboration between Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris to be held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, many questions remain unanswered. Visitor numbers and exhibitors targeted, the number of halls, stand prices, pooling of visitor lists… “We haven’t got to that stage yet”, explained Lameyse. “We are working step by step”, added Ferranti. One thing though is certain - the identity of both brands will be asserted. “We need to safeguard the genetic make-up of our two exhibitions. It is important to avoid diluting the strengths and purposes of our two exhibitions”, commented Lameyse.
