Chef Alain Ducasse and diplomat Philippe Faure were commissioned by Emmanuel Macron “to design and promote” in France and abroad the ‘Paris Food Forum’, due to be held from 20 to 22 March 2020, the Ministry has announced in a press release.

The announcement was made concurrently with a symposium at UNESCO on “using flavour to enhance consumer health and sustainable regional development”.

500 personalities expected

The event currently being organised will bring together “500 personalities from the world of gourmet foods, agriculture and food”, and will aim to “prompt thoughts on developments in gourmet foods, healthy eating and responsible production and consumption methods”, explained the Ministry.

One in three visitors say they choose France for its cuisine”, said Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He views French gourmet food as an economic asset, with the ability to “support our exports in the agri-food sector” and promote France as a tourist destination.

The Paris Food Forum will be held in 2020.
