70 cherry-picked international buyers have been invited by Vinexpo to take part in its second Explorer event from 23 to 25 September in the Californian wine region of Sonoma. The buyers, who come from 27 countries, have been selected for their influence and economic significance. They have been invited to meet 60 Sonoma producers for a studious series of tastings, presentations, field visits, business meetings and business dinners.

We welcome this opportunity to present our region to such an influential international target audience”, said Caroline Shaw, chair of Sonoma County Winegrowers (SCV), in a statement. “By combining the discovery of our region with key meetings between high-level buyers and local decision-makers, Vinexpo Explorer promises to spearhead sustainable business relationships”, said the American representative.

A unique niche

Vinexpo Explorer illustrates the way Vinexpo is flexing its international muscle through an innovative travelling business concept that focuses on a wine region or country”, stressed Vinexpo. After a first edition that took 90 buyers to Austria, Vinexpo Explorer will stop in Beaujolais at the end of 2019. Vinexpo's unique touring show currently has no competition, unlike its Paris show concept (rivalled by Comexposium’s Wine Paris) and Asian market events, where Germany’s ProWein exhibitions are currently being rolled out.
