Château Minuty has just doubled its supply of rosé wines in Vidauban by buying Château Verez and its 35 hectares of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah vines in the Côtes de Provence appellation area. Minuty now boasts 160 hectares of vines on-stream (20 hectares in Ramatuelle*, 60 hectares in Gassin and now 80 hectares in Vidauban). Purchased in 1994 by the late Serge Rosinoer, who had a career in cosmetics (notably at the head of the Clarins group), Château Verez was managed by his daughter, 65-year-old Laurence Rosinoer.

The acquisition makes perfect sense for Minuty, which operates the neighbouring Domaine de Châteauneuf, owned by the Franet-Matton family in 1850, before they bought Château Minuty in 1936. “Our development policy revolves around our wineries in Gassin and Vidauban, which is easier than around the peninsula... ", commented Minuty managing director François Matton. Recognising that land is a major issue in Provence, François Matton is already ready to consider new investments - "but not anywhere nor at any price" - reflecting strong global demand for rosés, particularly in the United States, but also in other countries.

This significant increase in Château Minuty’s vineyard holdings goes hand in hand with an extension of its winemaking, bottling and storage facilities for branded wines. Last March, the property officially opened a winery in Brignoles, capable of storing 2 million bottles and bottling 8,500 bottles an hour. “We produce 4 million bottles a year, 60% of which are branded wines. The château provides support for our brands and their premiumisation” added François Matton.
