The marketing subsidiary of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, "RFD" (Rothschild France distribution) announced on Monday, March 5, 2018 that it has signed an agreement to take over distribution of wines for Rhone company Brotte, in the French off-trade. The takeover became effective on March 1. Located in the southern Rhone valley, Brotte is a family-run, independent company owned by Laurent Brotte, grandson of the founder, and his family.

Portfolio diversification

The company is known for its wines produced in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, but it produces many other Rhone appellations, with a range of 18 wines, including Château de Bord in the Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Laudun and Côtes-du-Rhône area, Domaine Barville in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Domaine Grosset in Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Cairanne.

The new contract enables RFD to diversify and expand its portfolio of brands, which until now had no wines from the region. The company specialises in the distribution in France of a portfolio of international wine brands from Bordeaux (Mouton Cadet), Spain, Italy, Champagne (Pol Roger and Brimoncourt), Prosecco, Cava and spirits.
