The Pink Rosé Festival took place in Cannes from February 7th to 9th. Compared with the maiden event in 2017, this year’s festival was held on a smaller scale, welcoming 49 exhibitors and 40 buyers. This marks a 20% drop in exhibitors compared to last year, which according to the organisers is partly due to the small 2017 crop. Nevertheless, the organisers are pleased to have achieved a total of “600 targeted meetings between producers and international buyers”.
The festival is more than a traditional trade fair – it aims to provide tailored BtoB meetings by exhibitors filling out a form detailing their target markets; their expectations are then aligned with those of buyers (commercial agents, wine merchants, wholesalers, importers, restaurateurs...).
A noteworthy feature of the second festival was the launch of a competition: the Design Awards. “Their aim is to enhance the aesthetic appeal of bottles by rewarding the bottle and label design”, stated a press release. Visitors and exhibitors were able to vote for their favourite bottle at the exhibition with the results due out in March.
