Lugny co-operative posts all-time turnover high

During its 2016-2017 financial year, the Lugny co-operative winery in Burgundy posted turnover of 35.5 million euros, an increase of 4.5% and a new record. This comes on the back of the previous all-time high of 34 million euros in 2016.

The growth is ascribed to a surge of 8% in turnover generated by bottle sales which now total 5.9 million bottles and 54% of the winery’s sales, with a balance sold in bulk. Last year, the winery sold 5.5 million bottles. Turnover was thus fuelled both by an increase in volumes and higher prices, in France and export markets and across the winery’s range of Mâcon and Crémant de Bourgogne wines.
