Palmer & Co buys Domaine du Chalet

Champagne house Palmer & Co announced this September that it had bought Domaine du Chalet, an “outstanding mansion” situated in Chigny-les-Roses in the heart of the Montagne de Reims.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will provide the company with a “venue and wine tourism tool to support its brand development”.

Built in 1860, the property is the former home of Jeanne Alexandrine Mélin, better known as ‘Veuve Pommery’.

Five rooms

After renovation work, which is scheduled to take place in October and November this year, it will boast five “prestige” guestrooms and dining facilities and will offer patrons the chance to “fully immerse themselves in the world of Palmer & Co wines”.  The company is intending to re-open the revisited Domaine du Chalet in December.
