ecause it does not want to miss the slighgtest opportunity of developing on an English market which do not favour the most the Cava, the Catalan group is now commercialising an Italien sparkling .

"It is not just another Prosecco" states the Catalan group Freixenet, which is now commercialising a Prosecco on the English market. Unquestioned leader of Cavas production, the Catalan group seems, however, trying to diversify its range in a quite opportunistic way in the United Kingdom. "It is the result of a well thought out concept" stated Freixenet about its communication elements. It is true that this reference has been designed based on a consumer panel from England in order to optimise the product (DOC Prosecco, Charmat method) and its packaging (golden and exploded effect).

'Prise de mousse'

As noted The Drink Business, it is Freixenet's first production of non Spanish sparkling, under its propre banner (its subsidiary Yvon Mau just launched its Bordeaux Crément). This initiative could not come at a better time since the English market clearly favours Prosecco to other sparkling wines. According to the last statistics from the Wine and Spirit Tade Association, Prosecco has become the first sparkling wine consumed in Great-Britain (85 million bottles soldin 2016). Far before the declining Champagne (31 million bottle) and the still nascent Cava (23 million bottles).
