On June 21st, Guillaume Déglise announced Vinexpo's decision to think about other dates for the next editions during a press conference.

The idea has been spreading for years because the fair is a bit late regarding the wine business schedule. “We must think about changing the date. This year's high temperatures are showing this necessity. Even if the air conditionned worked well, access and tasting conditions were not optimal. We worked hard in order to improve quality and reception but it is damaged by extreme temperatures” said Guillaume Déglise, CEO of Vinexpo.

Dates will be communicated soon. The staff has to arrange with the Parc Expo and Bordeaux city hall “But our duty is to precise quickly this new schedule to be clear with our customers” considers Guillaume Déglise.

Vinexpo's assessment is quite positive. Regarding business, the promise seems kept, especially because of the 2,000 appointments and the success of Wow! (stand for organic producers). Some producers stayed four days when they have only booked for two. Nevertheless, Guillaume Déglise balances these results, and deplores that about fifteen major european buyers did not make the trip. “They come from Germany, Belgium, Great-Britain: key market for the wine industry. We have to convince them that this fair is interesting for them because they can also stay in touch with market trends, taste, attend conferences and meet new suppliers”. In other words: keep on think about Vinexpo as a business fair with a unique content in the world of wine fairs.
