The ratio between the number of exhibitors and the number of visitors will be good”, has claimed Vinisud director Ahmad Monhem who predicts that “20,000 visitors” will attend the show. A total 922 exhibitors, including 160 from outside France, will be taking part and the number of pre-registered visitors is up compared with last year’s show. Although there will be fewer exhibitors and visitors than in 2016, their numbers are in line with targets set for the show. “We were expecting exhibitor numbers of between 900 and 1,000 and 20,000 visitors”, stressed Monhem.

The 2017 show will see two novel concepts that have been warmly welcomed. The New Wave zone will showcase 43 young companies, whilst a dozen wine tourism providers will take part in a dedicated area. Twelve producers invited by Wine Mosaic will be presenting heirloom grape varieties whilst 400 foreign importers and distributors have been invited by Vinisud and Sud de France, via the International Business Forum FIA. Visitors will also get a chance to discover 1,200 wines in the Mediterranean free-pour tasting area and 45 boxed wines in the Open Wine Box zone hosted by Vitisphere.
