Languedoc : Foncalieu looks for new MD

Wednesday January 11 2017 by Vitisphere

After short stint at the helm of Foncalieu, Antoine Pirié, who was recruited as MD in January 2015, parted company with the Aude co-operative group last month. “The relationship didn’t gel”, admitted chairman Michel Servage. “We were in disagreement over how to implement group strategies”. Consultancy firm A&T Consulting Partners, which is very familiar with the company, is managing it during the interim period, until a new managing director can be recruited.

The Arzens-based co-operative group suffered a blow this year due to reduced volume sales to French super and hypermarkets. “Our turnover will be slightly down due to a fall in our sales to the French market and the United Kingdom. However, we are growing in other markets such as the USA, China and Scandinavia”, stressed Servage. The Aude company will invest 3 million euros in 2017 in extending its storage facilities in Arzens.
