Vinisud 2017: Young wine growers to get their own stand

Visitors to next year’s wine show in Montpellier, Vinisud, which runs from January 29 to 31, 2017, will for the first time discover a dedicated area for young wine growers. Dubbed ‘New Wave’, the collective stand is designed for growers that have been producing wine for under five years. It gives them the opportunity to showcase their wines at Vinisud at an extremely competitive price whilst for visitors it means ease of access, allowing them to pinpoint young wine growers from southern France and possibly even wines with great potential.

Michel Chapoutier, the chairman of the Rhone wine marketing board, launched the idea at this year’s show, stressing the opportunity of “opening an extension of the show reserved for all young French wine growers in a dedicated hall that will be of interest to buyers”.

The stand, which comes with a stool, shared storage area and twelve glasses, will also reach out to start-ups emerging in the wine industry set to benefit from similarly competitive pricing. To be eligible, firms must be post-2011.
