Sparkling wines: Success for the first Bulles Expo show in Paris

The maiden event of Bulles Expo in Paris on June 20 and 21, rose to the challenge of showcasing “a world apart in the world of wine”. In the haven of peace that is the Parc Floral, 120 French along with Italian, Spanish, German, Luxembourg, Slovenian and Ukrainian exhibitors illustrated the huge array of wines available in the category. The masterclasses and conferences outlined market fundamentals and the amazing economic prospects offered by sparkling wines with consumption volumes expected to surge by 10% by 2019*.

In this respect, the first Bulles Expo show vindicated the intention of its organisers – Vitisphere and GFA Events – which was to place sparkling wines centre stage and reveal the attractive array of wines on offer and top-end offerings in areas as wide-ranging as distribution, marketing and food pairings. 

The outcome of the maiden event has spurred Bulles Expo organisers to hold a second show in 2017 with increased visitor attendance their main focus. No fewer than 24 nationalities could be heard in the show’s aisles and the organisers’ ambition henceforth is to improve representation of the various distribution channels to respond to differing market access approaches. Until then, buyers who took part in the show are invited to log-in to the online format, an innovative way of sharing the pioneering spirit behind Bulles Expo and of emphasising the show’s inherent purpose.
