With 250 members in 9 associations (Aliénor du vin de Bordeaux, Etoiles en Beaujolais, Femmes et Vins de Bourgogne, Femmes Vignes Rhône, Eléonores de Provence, Vinifilles du Languedoc, diVINes d’Alsace, SO Femme & Vin du Sud Ouest, Fa’bulleuses de Champagne), France’s national society for female wine growers has just welcomed another association into the fold: the Dames du Coeur de Loire.

The association boasts around 30 members from the seven wine areas in the Centre-Loire region (Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Coteaux du Giennois and Châteaumeillant).

The association brings together a number of professions within the wine industry – wine growers, wine makers, teachers, laboratory technicians, sales assistants etc – and forms a professional network within the central France wine industry. In the short term, the Dames du Coeur de Loire will be rolling out initiatives designed at promoting the various trades within the wine and vine industry in a bid to respond to the problem of recruiting qualified staff in the vineyard and winery.
