In fine family spirit, the dinner given by the English journal, Decanter, at the start of September, in honour of François and Jean-Pierre Perrin, the winners of the Decanter’s Men of the Year award, showcased the wine that the brothers had created in tribute to their father, Jacques PerrinThe latter had handed over the management of Chateau de Beaucastel (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) to them in 1978.  A Producteur-négociant, the Perrin family also manages the Domaine du Clos des Tourelles (Gigondas), the Crus & Terroirs range (Côtes du Rhône) as well as La Vieille Ferme (Luberon). It is now the fifth generation of the Perrin family which is becoming increasingly involved in the running of the Group (including Marc Perrin, who is the winemaker at Château de Mireval, the Provençal property owned by actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie).

The Perrin brothers succeed sommelier, Gérard Basset, Decanter’s Man of the Year 2013 (click here for further details ).
