''Pessimists might say that 41,470 € isn't a lot'', states the press release reporting on the  auction of Bordeaux (and other) Grand Crus, held on 29th of April in the Hotel Bristol in Paris to raise money for the wine producers affected by the hail storms last summer. However ''this symbolic amount will give hope to struggling wine producers and shows that helping others is what matters most',' insist the organisers and participants of the charity sale, which included consultant, Stéphane Derenoncourt, Christie's auction house, the Hotel Bristol and actor, Clovis Cornillac. The amount raised will go the Association Viticole Intercommunale du Castillonnais to offer direct support to struggling businesses.

The Entre-Deux-Mers wine producers are still complaining about the lack of support available to them, with demands voiced by the “SOS Vignerons en détresse” group (SOS wine producers in distress) in particular. However, at the last general meeting of the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bordeaux ,Hervé Durand, Director of Agriculture for the Aquitaine region, told the assembly that ''wine producers in difficulty rarely take advantage of the subsidised loan scheme available to them. In actual fact, only one application has been submitted so far...''
