Matteo RENZI, (president of the Italian Council of Ministers since 22 February, 2014) paid a visit to the recent Vinitaly show in Verona (6 to 9 April). "I did not come to Vinitaly just to shake a few hands and drink a few glasses of wine. The Wine and Food industry is not just a hobby or a game but is a significant part of our culture, lifestyle and, most importantly, our economy.   With this in mind, we need to set our objectives: today our wine exports stand at € 5 billion and we should aim to be at € 7.5 billion by 2012, because we can do it.  With the entrepreneurial men and women in our wine industry, we have the potential."  An inspiring speech, which will certainly have been well received.
