For all export destinations: an all-in-one solution for the shipment of small quantities of wine.

Whether in terms of cost, time or the administrative paperwork involved, shipping small quantities of wine can be a real headache.  To alleviate these problems, Chronopost International and the Bordeaux City Bond warehouse (Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry) have just unveiled an all- in-one service, 'Chrono Viti Bordeaux Gironde".

The partnership agreement, signed at the recent Bordeaux Vinipro show (photo), will first establish this service in Aquitaine before rolling it out to the rest of France. The service makes its début in the Bordeaux region because the project originated here and was based on surveys into the needs of négociants and wine producers in the Gironde, explains Agnes Grange (La Poste's regional representative in Aquitaine). This service has come about "due to a change in habits with the growth of online sales, and more people visiting the châteaux. ...And should provide a model which is economically attractive to wine producers."  This "partnership was put together in order to offer special pricing conditions" confirms Frédéric Bernard (Chronopost's commercial director), who also points out that Chronopost France delivers 500,000 wine consignments annually to 230 countries.

Two 'Chrono Viti Bordeaux Gironde'' services are now available - either the sender prepares the consignment (one, three, six or twelve bottles) himself (at his premises) and then Chronopost picks it up or the sender delegates the preparation to the Bordeaux City Bond bonded warehouse (in the Blanquefort industrial area ), which can store wine for shipping. Chronopost then guarantees next day delivery in France and delivery in one to four days to the rest of the world (BCB currently ships 70% of its wines to Asia).  The service also includes online advice about Customs requirements (including an online calculator of the duties and taxes at the country of destination) and experts are on hand to help the users.
