Cotes de Bordeaux: The Union chaired by Stéphane Héraud (vignerons de Tutiac)

Still in its infancy, the Union des Cotes de Bordeaux seems to have developed a pattern: It is again a Blaye producer who will chair the association. At the last Board meeting, Stephane Heraud (70 hectares) was voted new chair replacing Jean-Michel Baudet (Château Monconseil-Gazin, 24 hectares). Since 2005, Stephane Heraud is president of the Cave des Hauts de Gironde (also known under its commercial brand: Les Vignerons de Tuniac). He is also vice-president of the Conseil Territorial de Gironde and as such  participates in the Comité National de l'Institut National de l'Origine et de la Qualité (INAO).

Created in 2009, the Cotes de Bordeaux fall under 4 appellations: Blaye (6 500 hectares), Cadillac (2 600 ha), Castillon (3 000 ha) and Francs (500 ha) and regroup a total of 1,400 winemakers. The Union des Cotes de Bordeaux’s Managing Director is Patricia Zabalza.
