2013 Harvest: South Africa and Argentina announce higher yields

Friday April 12 2013 by Vitisphere

It seems that 2013 won't stick to the 2012 pattern. At least in the Southern Hemisphere, the new vintage won't be as reduced as last year small wine production. The first harvest trends suggest a return to normal crop in Argentina, whose production went down by 22 % in 2012 and should be up 20 % in 2013, according to Wine Sur.

In South African, the leader of wine and spirits production and exports, Distell announced a +8% increase of its yield. Last January, the first official estimations rather indicated a slight decline South Africa.
