Since the removal of tariff barriers in 2004 (after Poland entered the European Union), Polish wine consumption kept on growing. This development sets Poland among the most promising of emerging markets as wine is gaining ground on beer. Last year, Polish consumption of foreign wines set new records .

In 2012, the Polish wine market imported 99 million liters of wine, worth 179 million euros (+7.7 and +2% compared to 2011). France exported 96 000 hl of wine in Poland, worth 24.1 million euros (+12.1 and +15.64% compared to 2011).
