Bordeaux en primeurs 2012: the whole futures tastings program

The 2012 vintage of Bordeaux wines will be tasted en primeur the second week of April 2013. As stated in the Agence Fleurie's comprehensive program, most futures tastings are usually "for wine professionals only, with access on request or invitation". The celebration of the Ban du Millésime by the wine brotherhood La Commanderie du Bontemps, however, is open to the public, marking the end of the primeurs week since 2000 and will be held on Wednesday, April 10 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux.

Most of the professional tastings start on Monday, April 8, yet some start as early as Sunday, April 7 :

- Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur, which will be open for tasting the 7th April (Planet Bordeaux and Caillau Beychac)

- The Côtes de Bourg (Bordeaux Grand Theatre) will kick of the start of their own futures tasting later in the afternoon the same day.

- The wines of Graves will also have their tasting on the Sunday, in the Hall de la Bourse (Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce).

On April 8, not-to-be missed : 50 Pessac-Leognan wines en primeurs at Château Olivier (Léognan).

Then from April 8 to 11 :

- Hangar 14 (Quai des Chartrons, Bordeaux): Futures tasting of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGCB).
Regarding sweet wines of the UGCB, they will be available for tasting en primeur on 14 March at the Cadillac Maison des Vins.

- Saint-Emilion will welcome most of the futures tastings of wines from the right bank of the Gironde :Grands Crus Classés de Saint-Emilion, winesfrom the Cercle Rive Droite des Grands Vins de Bordeaux (hôtel Grand Barrail, Saint-Emilion) and the wines of Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac (salle des Dominicains, Saint-Emilion).

- On the left bank, futures tastings of the wines from the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois will take place at the Château d'Agassac (Ludon-Médoc) from April 9 to 11.


Also:

- Bernard Magrez will present his 2012 wines at both Château Fombrauge and Château Pape Clement from April 9 to 11.

- Hubert de Boüard (Chateau Angelus) will present the new vintage from April 8 to 12 at Château La Fleur de Boüard (Néac).

- 2012 wines produced with the consulting team of Stéphane Derenoncourt will be tasted at Château La Gaffelière (Saint-Emilion) from April 8 to 11.

Last but not least:
Organic futures will do their own tasting : les Primeurs Bio d'Aquitaine on April 9 and 10 at Château Franc Pourret (Saint-Emilion).
The union of biodynamic wines (Biodyvin) organizes tastingsfrom April 8 to 10 at Château Fonroque (Saint-Emilion).
