Laurent-Perrier: the Champagne house celebrates 200 years
D

uring the first half of 2012-2013, the Champagne house Laurent-Perrier announced a € 95.5 million turnover (+3.9%). However, its profitability decreases, the net result was € 6.9 million (-27.1%). The reasons for this decrease are related to lower yields in the Champagne vineyard (-30% in 2012) and a 34% increase in communication investments, especially for its bicentennial.

Founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne, the family house Laurent-Perrier is celebrating this anniversary in the world with its customers (Japan, Morocco, Finland ...) andin  France with its past and present employees. With a consumption decline in France during the second quarter, the Champagne group turns increasingly itself to export (75% of its shipments), especially outside Europe. For its bicentennial, the house has also launched a "Grand Siècle winery." The 14 stainless steel tanks are exclusively dedicated to reserve wines.
