leading Cognac operator, Remy Cointreau has put its champagne branch on sale for few months now. Pernod Ricard denied its interest by the end of 2010. Lately, however, REmy Cointreau announced to be in exclusive negotiations with EPI (Européenne de Participation Immobilière), the holding company fully controlled by French family Descours, owner of high-end clothing brands such as Weston, Bonpoint, Alain Figaret ... EPI is interested in the champagnes of Remy Cointreau, with brands including Piper Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck. EPI already owns a winery: Château La Verrerie, acquired in 1981.
