n association with the Vinéa trade fair, the town of Sierre came to life this weekend in celebration of Swiss wines ; such as those from Valais, but also guests of honour like the Merlots of Tessin, in Italian-speaking Switzerland, and also Swiss Chateauneuf de Pape. On the occasion of the exhibition, François Murisier, the president of the the Vinéa association, based in Valais, and the group’s chief executive, Elisabeth Pasquier, awarded the medals from the Mondial du Pinot Noir competition, in the presence of Yves Bénard, president of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).

Among the gold medallists, whose excellence in viticulture and oenology had already been recognised, Vitisphere chose one winner in particular to award for their presence on the internet. The lucky winner of Vitisphere’s first Award for Digital Communication is the Johanniter Kellerei in Salgesch. Anne Serres awarded the prize to Thomas Grichting, the owner of the estate and Samuel Clavien, who created the website with Oliver Grichting, Thomas’ son.
