Competition : France gets top grades at Chardonnay du Monde® competition

he  Chardonnay du Monde® Competition, was held from 10 to 13 March 2010 at Castle Ravatys, vineyard of the Pasteur Institute in Saint Lager (Burgundy, France). The competition gathered 887 samples from 37 countries. Juries have awarded 65 gold medals, 147 silver medals and 57 bronze medals.
France ranks high with 157 medals (41 gold, 93 silver, 23 bronze).
The regions distinguished are the Languedoc-Roussillon, South Burgundy (Saône et Loire and Beaujolais) Chablis and Champagne. South Africa, Brazil and Switzerland are also well noted.

Seven countries are in the Top 10 2010 : France gets four gold medals including two of Champagne 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs (Champagne Colin and Paul Goerg Champagne). It is also distinguished through a Vin de Pays du Val de Loire (La Ragotière) and Vin de Pays d'Oc (Vignobles JM Bonfils). Austria (Weingut Johann Schneeberger), Greece (Ktima Tselepos) and Germany (Weinzergenossenschaft Auggen) are high on the charts. Spain (Albet i Noya Sat), South Africa (Lourensford) and Canada (Kalala Organic Estate Winery) reaffirm their correct position.
