Trade Show: Vinexpo has its full number of exhibitors despite the credit crunch
V

inexpo 2009 boasts its full complement of exhibitors.

The trade show will take place in Bordeaux on from 21st to 25th June.
2400 exhibitors from 45 countries will have stands, with a very large contingent of French, Italian and Spanish exhibitors. For their part, the Chileans and Argentines have confirmed their attendance in the same volumes as 2007 levels, while the number of places reserved by Mexicans (+4.4%), Portuguese (+8%) and South Africans (22%) have all increased. Newcomers to the regional and national pavillions are the Swiss, the Belarussians, and societies from Madagascar and Brazil, all of whom are presenting their wine to visitors. The Congress Palace will also welcome consultants and suppliers who are ‘Marketers by Vinexpo’, “a complementary service offering visitors insight into responsible marketing and the exhibitors’ trade.”
“Despite a difficult economic context, the prospects of international trade remain very optimistic in the wine and spirits industry. Vinexpo/ISWR’s study of the global situation predicts some disparities between 2008 and 2009 but overall, the situation should be smooth until 2012, with the global consumption of wine continuing to increase more than 6% in five years, to reach 2816 billion cases,” states Xavier de Eizaguirre, President of Vinexpo.”
