here’s a celebration of grape harvests in Argentina, where the President of the Republic, Cristina Kirchner announced the launching of a project to promote Argentine wines on French TGVs. Fifth wine producer and tenth wine exporter in the world, Argentina “has this year beaten the record for wine exports,” declared the President, after recording a turnover of more than 482 million dollars in 2007, Argentina has already made exports worth 447 million dollars in the first nine months of 2008. Cristina Kirchner has also announced a reduction of half the taxes levied on exports of wine and grape. Finally, a credit of 50 billion dollars must be made available for the small and medium sized producers in the sector, by the Inter-American Development Bank.
