ernod Ricard announces a transfer agreement with Distell Group Ltd for the brand of cognac ‘Bisquit’ and its stock, for a sum of 31 million euros. The transaction also includes a distribution contract covering France, Belguim, Switzerland and Luxembourg. This transfer is registered within the framework of non-strategic active transfers such as when the acquisition of V&S wine and Spirit was announced.
The Distell group is the main wine, spirits and ready-to-drink (RTDs) producer in South Africa. Just behind the Johannesburg exchange (JSE), it employs more than 4,200 people and achieves an annual turnover of more than 700 million euros.
