In Burgundy, Seguin-Manuel buys up 1.8 hectares of vineyard in Vosne-Romanée

The Seguin-Manuel domain stretches across 8.5 hectares and produces 80,000 bottles of wine a year, 70% of which are exported to over 30 different countries. This also includes a small area that the domain has just purchased : 1.8 hectares in Vosne-Romanée, in a place known as « Aux Communes ».

Historically situated in the Savigny-lès-Beaune, the domaine was taken over by Thibault Marion, 180 years after it was created in 1824. At 42 years of age and with the prize of Young Talent of the Wine Industry 2009 (Lauréat du Trophée des Jeunes Talents du vin 2009) under his belt, Thibault Marion is the product of a family whose presence in Burgundy spans 10 generations. He proved his worth working at the heart of the family business, Chanson Père & Fils, for seven years. Under his impetus, the Seguin-Manuel domain has expanded and diversified since 2007, with the purchases of fragments of vineyard in Beaune, Pommard, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachat. All of these areas are in the process of being made organic.

According to Thibault Marion, who was speaking at a press conference, buying land in Vose-Romanée « will allow us to have a foot in a symbolic village of the Côtes de Nuits domain. It will help us to control supply in the highest quality appellations and to strengthen our artisinal scope ».
